Ypres in Southern Victory[]

Ypres

War torn Ypres.

Ypres was the site of battles in both the Great War and the Second Great War. In the Great War, Ypres was the first time Germany used poison gas on the battlefield.[1] In the Second Great War, Germany was on the verge of invading Ypres in the first months of 1944, signalling a substantial reversal of fortune for Anglo-French forces, which, after advancing for three years, had fallen back from western Germany, through Holland, and into Belgium.[2]
