Yeti

The standard concept of a Yeti.

The Yeti or Abominable Snowman is an ape-like cryptid taller, than an average human, that is said to inhabit the Himalayan region of Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet. The names Yeti and Meh-Teh are commonly used by the people indigenous to the region, and are part of their history and mythology. Stories of the Yeti first emerged as a facet of Western popular culture in the 19th century.

The scientific community has generally regarded the Yeti as a legend, given the lack of conclusive evidence, and it remains one of the most famous creatures of cryptozoology.

Yeti in State of JeffersonEdit

When China invaded Tibet in 1959, many yeti were forced into exile, and those that stayed were subject to horrible treatment by the Chinese government.[1] In August, 1979, the Yeti Lama made a trip to the U.S. state of Jefferson to meet briefly with the state governor, Bill Williamson. He lamented that the Chinese called the yeti "snowmen", and treated them abominably.[2]
