Xerxes is a male name. It is the Greek version of the Old Persian name Xšaya-ṛšā, which is today known in Modern Persian as Khashayar. In the works of Harry Turtledove, Xerxes may refer to:

Xerxes I of Persia, historical monarch with an important background role in "Counting Potsherds", where is known by his Persian name, Khsrish.
Khsrish IV of Persia, fictional monarch with an important background role in "Counting Potsherds". His Greek name would be Xerxes IV, and he is referenced as such by the Yauna characters in the story.
Xerxes is an alias used by Scipio, one of the primary fictional POV characters in Southern Victory.
