Trapping Run is the sixth story in A Different Flesh. It was first published in IASFM 2/88. Set in 1814, it tells the story of Henry Quick, an eastern trapper who is injured in an encounter with a bear, and is nursed and protected by a tribe of sims. While his time with the sims is arguably destructive to the clan, Quick grows to view the sims as something more than beasts, and becomes an advocate for them.
