The Victorious Opposition is a novel by Harry Turtledove published by Del Rey in 2003. It the third volume of the American Empire trilogy, which is itself part of the larger Southern Victory series. It begins on March 5, 1934, the day after Jake Featherston is inaugurated as President of the Confederate States, and ends on June 22, 1941, the beginning of the Second Great War.[edit] Characters
