It is an alternate history in which the Baltimore Terrapins were not established in Baltimore, and so Baltimore Orioles owner Jack Dunn did not trade Babe Ruth to the Boston Red Sox, andh Ruth never achieved the greatness he did in OTL. The story takes place in a bar Ruth owns sometime in February, 1941, as Ruth recounts his missed opportunity to H.L. Mencken.
