Tessrek interviewed human prisoner Bobby Fiore, who was being held for experimentation, and questioned him about the concept of family, marriage, and love (concepts entirely alien to the Race), in order to better understand and rule the human race. When Fiore tried to explain to Tessrek about love, it only left Tessrek more confused and frustrated with the concept. Fiore quickly realized how ignorant Tessrek and his people were about humans.
Tessrek was a professional rival of Ttomalss', a rivalry which grew into mutual personal dislike each other. Their rivalry intensified when Ttomalss began to raise a human baby, Liu Mei, as part of his study of "Tosevite" integration to Race society.
Tessrek did not approve of Ttomalss' research, as he viewed it as impossible, and made great sport of entering Ttomalss's lab and making snide remarks of the child's crying, defecation, and the like, proclaiming Ttomalss as Liu Mei's mother. Ttomalss responded just as snidely that Tessrek would be the perfect choice for raising Liu Mei, given the time Tessrek spent studying the child's parents, Bobby Fiore and Liu Han. Ttomalss further insulted Tessrek by stating he had a "family attachment" to the two humans, embittering his rival.
Tessrek continued to scorn Ttomalss' efforts in raising Liu Mei, even when Liu Mei began to speak the Race's language. After Liu Mei was eventually returned to Liu Han, Ttomalss adopted and raised another Tosevite he named Kassquit. Tessrek took much delight in mocking Kassquit whenever he had the chance and derisively calling her "a pet".
