Is the addition in Supervolcano needed or does the Eruption: Annotated cover it? ML4E (talk) 19:58, June 9, 2016 (UTC)

I'm tempted to suggest we create a page for Jupiter himself, honestly. In any event, since we have the Zeus page, I don't see a a problem keeping it, won't lose sleep if we delete it. TR (talk) 21:20, June 9, 2016 (UTC)
I think this one is pretty weak. It should go. As for a separate article for Jupiter, I guess I could be persuaded. Turtle Fan (talk) 22:35, June 9, 2016 (UTC)
Well, if we are removing the Supervolcano stuff, then the only subsection about Jupiter is in GE. Suddenly it seems less urgent. TR (talk) 22:39, June 9, 2016 (UTC)
Exactly how different were the two? Would an article on [[Zeus/Jupiter]] perhaps be in order? Turtle Fan (talk) 03:36, June 10, 2016 (UTC)
If memory serves, the Romans, being the Romans, integrated their pantheon into their history, e.g., Jupiter was crucial in the founding of various important Roman cities, that sort of thing. The Greeks didn't do that so much with Zeus. I haven't thought of the Roman pantheon in some time. TR (talk) 04:28, June 10, 2016 (UTC)
How different Zeus and Jupiter are varies from author to author. Rick Riordan (Percy Jackson & Olympus) makes them quite different. As HT has hardly written anything about Jupiter, a separate page isn't worth it.JonathanMarkoff (talk) 07:38, June 10, 2016 (UTC)

We can pare this down to the MMGtM (where he appears) and Thessalonica (where he could appear if he had worshippers). Move the rest to Lit Refs. Maybe create a Jupiter and/or Jove redirect. TR (talk) 18:29, February 14, 2017 (UTC)

We have a Greek myths ref page, and they can be moved there. However, I think Gunpowder Empire should stay, as it illustrates that Jupiter worship remains an ongoing religion down to the 21st century in that world, unlike in ours.JonathanMarkoff (talk) 19:23, February 14, 2017 (UTC)

The fact that the Roman Empire is an ongoing concern into the 21st century, unlike in ours, is sufficient. TR (talk) 19:33, February 14, 2017 (UTC)
Roman Empire and Jupiter worship are not necessarily hand in hand, so the apparent redundancy is justifiable in this case I think.JonathanMarkoff (talk) 19:35, February 14, 2017 (UTC)
It is a perfectly logical relationship, since the Romans worshipped him in OTL. It is not inevitable, but all things being equal, it is not surprising that Jupiter cults still exist, and does little justify a separate article. If the story were about, e.g., the U.S. adopting Jupiter worship, it would be a different thing. TR (talk) 19:59, February 14, 2017 (UTC)
