Too much speculation and out of universe perspectives?JonathanMarkoff (talk) 09:05, September 30, 2017 (UTC)

There isn't any speculation, just compare and contrast with OTL War of 1812. It is out of universe, but I don't object to this particular case as an exception. ML4E (talk) 16:41, September 30, 2017 (UTC)
It could use some tightening up in spots. I haven't read the series so I can't comment much more than that.TR (talk) 17:12, September 30, 2017 (UTC)
I do think there's too much compare and contrast. But take that out and there's not enough information to justify having an article at all. Turtle Fan (talk) 17:23, September 30, 2017 (UTC)
Maybe this is the place we start that "Minor Fictional Wars" page we talked about and never did. TR (talk) 17:36, September 30, 2017 (UTC)
Sure, sounds good to me. Turtle Fan (talk) 00:53, October 1, 2017 (UTC)

A problem is that a leader is listed as "King James the Madman's Son?" This is Adam Keller level speculation. No Madison analog is even hinted at any time in the series.

How about condensing the article to "The War of 1218 was a conflict that the Kingdom of Detina fought a long time before its Civil War. The blond leader Hesmucet won notable battles against the Detinans but was ultimately defeated. Literary comment: The name War of 1218 is an anagram of the War of 1812. How closely the fantasy war resembled the real one, whether Hesmucet's tribe was a primary or secondary antagonist (his namesake Tecumseh was among the latter), and whether "the mother kingdom" (analog of the United Kingdom) was involved, are questions never answered in the series.JonathanMarkoff (talk) 02:52, October 1, 2017 (UTC)
