Why is it 'literary criticism'?Zhukov15 (talk) 22:45, June 7, 2013 (UTC)

Because it's a section dedicated to discussing how lame the story is. TR (talk) 01:11, June 8, 2013 (UTC)

Is it that bad?76.69.65.161 01:13, June 8, 2013 (UTC)Zhukov15

Your mileage will always vary. TR (talk) 01:36, June 8, 2013 (UTC)

Not a werewolf story[]

This isn't a werewolf story. We never know what the thing in the woods is. TR (talk) 20:33, July 16, 2018 (UTC)

I was going by Werewolf (Disambiguation), which must have this point wrong.JonathanMarkoff (talk) 20:35, July 16, 2018 (UTC)

Hmm. The Lit Crit reminds me of Goosebumps. Turtle Fan (talk) 03:04, July 17, 2018 (UTC)

In many ways, that comparison is actually flattering to TTitW. TR (talk) 16:15, July 17, 2018 (UTC)
So it's a shitty version of Goosebumps? Wow. Turtle Fan (talk) 20:18, July 17, 2018 (UTC)
As I told Zhukov years ago, your mileage may vary, but I was pretty unhappy with it. Unlike other stories that I found likable the second time around, this one just seemed lamer on subsequent re-read. Even when taken in the more "tongue-in-cheek" spirit that it was written, it just doesn't make any real sense. TR (talk) 20:27, July 17, 2018 (UTC)

I don't think "set in OTL(?)" is helpful, since it probably isn't set in OTL. It's probably best to just say "Fantasy." There is no reference to nationality in the story, so we can't presume American nationalities for the characters. And it's a trope for vampires to go by one name, so putting them in characters with one name is unhelpful. Regarding the literary criticism, it seems to me that HT was up late and on a deadline, so just hacked out the most basic Goosebumps formula possible in 15 minutes.JonathanMarkoff (talk) 12:42, March 2, 2019 (UTC)

You've completely overthought this story. TR (talk) 16:13, March 2, 2019 (UTC)
