Cud-Chewing Pig[]

Does anyone think that an article for the cud-chewing pig should be created? It's just a red link on the article. --75.68.122.13 16:00, March 1, 2016 (UTC)Jacob Chesley the Alternate Historian

If there is a red-link, then the long term plan includes creating an article at some point. It's just a relatively low priority for a short story that's 30 years old. TR (talk) 16:06, March 1, 2016 (UTC)
I just created the article about 15 minutes ago! It's no longer red-linked on this article, but it might be on other articles and templates. --75.68.122.13 17:35, July 20, 2016 (UTC)Jacob Chesley the Alternate Historian
The templates will auto-fill in within the next couple of days. TR (talk) 17:47, July 20, 2016 (UTC)

Pig in Before the Beginning[]

I wonder what would happen to the pig population around the world after nearly everyone converts to Judaism at the end of the story? Since Jews are not allowed to eat pork due to it being taboo against their religion, I wonder how this would effect people's dietary habits. Would the people who converted not eat pork anymore or would they continue their previous religions dietary habits and continue to eat pork (if their previous religion allows it) anyway? --75.68.122.13 18:00, May 29, 2016 (UTC)Jacob Chesley the Alternate Historian

God is proven to exist and his commandments are still in effect including dietary laws. There is no point in converting if you are not going to follow kosher so domestic pigs would be extinct. The resources needed to raise them would be transferred to kosher meats so it would leave only wild boar. ML4E (talk) 20:14, May 29, 2016 (UTC)
Well, there are different strains of Judaism, which don't all put the same emphasis on dietary laws. However, I do think that, given the nature of this particular revelation, Orthodox Judaism would dominate.
Which raises another interesting point: If memory serves, converting to strictly-enforced Orthodox Judaism is a very slow and difficult process. If they really wanted to get strict about the Mosaic Law, it would be a multigenerational process in most cases. Turtle Fan (talk) 00:17, May 30, 2016 (UTC)
