I guess it's good to have a succinct summary of this timeline's Civil War somewhere, but strictly speaking, only the last couple sentences actually describe Azaña's role in the story. Turtle Fan (talk) 03:42, August 1, 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, I weighed that a bit. When the character is a head of state, it feels kind of wrong to just drop in a summary of the three pages where Turtledove suddenly remembered said HoS existed in the first place.

He was made made out to be quite the buffoon in that scene, so I have to wonder whether his omission up to that point is HT's way of suggesting that his leadership was weak and irrelevant. If so giving him credit for everything the Republic did doesn't work.

First let's try transplanting the section to Spanish Civil War and going from there. It's a good deal more informative than the TWTPE section of that article. Turtle Fan (talk) 03:53, August 1, 2014 (UTC)
