[edit] East Sea vs. Sea of Japan
It's neither here nor there, TF, but I'm assuming the name change stems from your time in Korea? TR 22:46, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, old habits. I do find it unfair in principle for a nation to name after itself a sea which touches the coasts of many lands. On the other hand, East Sea is nearly as nationalistic: Take one look at it and say, Hmm, I wonder for whom it's the East Sea? Turtle Fan 23:27, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
- I'm fine with either. IT doesn't matter unless we suddenly have members who are Korean or Japnese nationalists.
- Or are just plain conservative when it comes to naming geography. TR 23:52, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
- There is that, yes.
- Thank God we don't have to write any articles about Dokdo/Takeshima. We should probably go with Liancourt Rocks if that were ever to come up. Turtle Fan 03:19, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
- I would think that if such a situation ever arose, we would use whatever name HT used in the particular story. ML4E 04:45, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
- Ah yes, HT. I'd forgotten about him for a moment. Isn't that awful? Turtle Fan 06:03, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
