We should probably retitle to "Fat sergeant (Uncle Alf)"--HT's sergeants alternate between fat-and-lazy on the one hand and tough-but-lovable on the other. There is at least one more "fat sergeant" out there. TR (talk) 16:55, June 22, 2016 (UTC)

I agree, that would eliminate ambiguity as to which story this article refers to. The Sarge doesn't fit that description but there were any number of others that would. ML4E (talk) 17:08, June 22, 2016 (UTC)
That's probably a good idea. This is one of several examples of HT not naming a really important character, the Frankfurt Guard being the most egregious example. You'd think if his naming skill wasn't working that day, he'd at least have come up with something like Johan Schmidt.JonathanMarkoff (talk) 20:22, June 22, 2016 (UTC)
...Why would the Red Skull appear in an HT work?
On a more serious note, much depends on the context. Obviously Hitler holds nearly everyone in contempt, so of course he wouldn't bother to learn a fat sergeant's name in UA (and I'd debate FS's importance).
To this day, I feel like the Frankfurt Guard is a thinly veiled somebody, but I can't think of who. But, yes, that character could have had a name, even though he was one-off POV. TR (talk) 21:15, June 22, 2016 (UTC)
