It's not really a city.  It's not really a municipal district either, at least as we have defined municipal districts.  However, that is the only category that comes close to the English notion of a district.  TR (talk) 17:24, December 29, 2015 (UTC)

Should we redefine the category to include the English usage? HT's done many stories set in England, after all. Turtle Fan (talk) 21:56, December 29, 2015 (UTC)
We only have this and Whitechapel so it doesn't seem worthwhile. The current category seems to be a catch-all for miscellaneous municipal type areas that aren't cities and smaller than regions. ML4E (talk) 22:59, December 29, 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, I suppose not. Turtle Fan (talk) 22:09, December 30, 2015 (UTC)
And I walk back what I said slightly--Deptford is a district within the London Borough of Lewisham. They just don't call such subdivisions "municipal". So I think we can leave well enough alone. TR (talk) 23:37, December 29, 2015 (UTC)
To be fair, the article does say "located mainly within the London Borough of Lewisham and partly within the Royal Borough of Greenwich". Oops, I checked before posting and find that Greenwich is now part of London but at the time of RB would have been a separate municipality. ML4E (talk) 17:31, December 30, 2015 (UTC)
Greenwich's namesake on Manhattan Island met the same fate in the early nineteenth century. Must be a cursed name or something. Turtle Fan (talk) 22:09, December 30, 2015 (UTC)
