480 BC + 400 = 80 BC? If we take the number literally, the story takes place then. I think this is the case with "Death in Vesunna" - someone says Trajan died 30 years ago, so the wiki presumes it takes place in AD 147. Reasonable extrapolation.JonathanMarkoff (talk) 20:07, November 5, 2015 (UTC)
- I did up the story quite some time ago so don't recall exactly but I believe the story only gives the vague four centuries ago. Using 400 years to determine the date is 80 BC is too exact for the wording. As a rule of thumb, it could be +/- 50 years since anything bigger would lead to five centuries or three ago. Although, someone might say three and a half centuries ago leading to tighter error margins of +/- 25 years. The first range gives anything from 130 BC to 30 BC while the second 105 BC to 55 BC.
