Maybe this should be retitled so that gods who were in Roman but not Greek stories can be added.JonathanMarkoff (talk) 19:27, February 14, 2017 (UTC)

See Category:Greco-Roman Deities subcatted to this category. TR (talk) 19:32, February 14, 2017 (UTC)
How about "Greco-Roman Mythology Referred To in Turtledove's Work"?JonathanMarkoff (talk) 19:34, February 14, 2017 (UTC)
What Romans would go here? TR (talk) 19:34, February 14, 2017 (UTC)
Isis, who had a Roman version ref'd in WW but not a Greek version as far as I know.JonathanMarkoff (talk) 19:36, February 14, 2017 (UTC)
See my thoughts on that attempt to thread the needle at Talk: Isis TR (talk) 19:39, February 14, 2017 (UTC)
After coming through Household Gods for more references, I find more support for the "Greco-Roman Mythology Referred To in Turtledove's Work" idea.JonathanMarkoff (talk) 20:13, February 25, 2017 (UTC)
Ancient Myth still makes a great deal more sense than merely focusing on Greco-Roman. TR (talk) 02:08, February 26, 2017 (UTC)
HT hasn't focused much on ancient myth outside Greco-Roman - except in TCotTSD, where the gods are significant enough to have their own articles - so Greco-Roman is suitable for the time being.JonathanMarkoff (talk) 17:59, February 26, 2017 (UTC)
Isis and Mithra do not originate in Greco-Roman myth. Therefore, simply focusing on Greco-Roman myth is not "suitable". I see no discernible purpose is merely limiting the article that way. TR (talk) 18:14, February 26, 2017 (UTC)
While they didn't originate in Roman culture, they were assimilated into it, and the Romanised forms are the only ones HT has used. I think calling them Greco-Roman for convenience is justified by the context.JonathanMarkoff (talk) 18:16, February 26, 2017 (UTC)

Zeus vs Jupiter[]

Since we now have moved minor references to this general article, and it is about Ancient Mythology, I think the three references to "Jupiter" now listed under "Zeus" should be moved to the Jupiter sub-section and the redirect removed. A redirect file for Jupiter can also be created with the three story cats included. ML4E (talk) 20:53, March 8, 2017 (UTC)

I agree. TR (talk) 00:15, March 9, 2017 (UTC)
Yes, I think so too. Turtle Fan (talk) 02:24, March 9, 2017 (UTC)

Gods vs Supernatural Beings[]

I noticed that this article is cated under "Gods" but has been expanded to include other supernatural beings that are not gods. I suggest the cat be changed to the parent "Supernatural Beings" to reflect this. The individual redirects for gods (e.g. Jupiter, Zeus, etc.) would remain cated under "Gods" so the information would not be lost. ML4E (talk) 17:58, November 24, 2018 (UTC)

Agreed. TR (talk) 18:01, November 24, 2018 (UTC)
