Edward Van Sloan isn't suitable for TMaaV, because the 1931 Dracula updated the setting to the then-present day. I am not familiar with the Peter Cushing version, but the Anthony Hopkins version used an authentic, high-budget Victorian setting that Stoker might have conceived of. The montage looks a little awkward.

I love the much maligned Van Helsing movie with Hugh Jackman, but that version just used the name and created a whole new character around it.JonathanMarkoff (talk) 20:20, May 20, 2017 (UTC)

It's appropriate because Van Helsing is an iconic character, and including images from some of the most recognizable portrayals of him is useful to illustrate his importance in popular culture, not just for this one Turtledove pastiche. I agree with excluding Hugh Jackman.
Should Dracula turn up in the sequel piece, I foresee using Lugosi, Christopher Lee, Frank Langella, and I suppose Gary Oldman in his butt-shaped 'do.
I doubt HT will be so obvious as to use Dracula himself. Maybe Lord Ruthven, Sir Francis Varney, or even Mircalla Karnstein, if he goes the famous vampire route. TR (talk) 20:35, May 20, 2017 (UTC)
I was going to suggest that the photos go against precedent, but now that I think of it, there really aren't any precedents that apply here at all, are there? I guess I have no preference at this point. Turtle Fan (talk) 19:06, May 21, 2017 (UTC)
