Simon Wiesenthal, KBE, (31 December 1908 – 20 September 2005) was an Austrian-Jewish architectural engineer and Holocaust survivor. After World War II, Wiesenthal spent his life hunting down Nazi war criminals.
Simon Wiesenthal escaped Poland and managed to flee to India. He met with Mohandas Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, sharing with them the horrors the Germans were visiting upon the Jews. Gandhi could not believe Wiesenthal; he was convinced that such actions would only be a country's ruin. Nehru suspected otherwise.
