Santa Fe is the capital of the state of New Mexico. It is the fourth-largest city in the state (population 69,204 in 2012) and the seat of Santa Fe County. Founded by Spanish colonists in 1610 on the site of several defunct indigenous villages, it is the oldest city in the state and the oldest state capital city in the United States.

Santa Fe in "Eyewear"[]

In 1679, Po'pay was walking in the wilderness west of Santa Fé, angrily ruminating on the Spanish oppression of his people. In the course of this travel, he discovered a century-old skeleton in possession of a mysterious piece of eyewear. Unbeknownst to him, he was being watched.[1]

Santa Fe in The House of Daniel[]

While Santa Fe had never had a professional baseball team, they'd had semipro teams for as long as anyone could remember. Their team in 1934 was the Saints.[2]

The House of Daniel played the Saints in May. Jack Spivey admired Santa Fe's obvious history, although the altitude was difficult for him and the rest of the team to adjust to. Still, the House was able to win what nearly turned into a rough game.[3]
