The Roswell Rockets was a baseball club, part of the minor Longhorn League. The Rockets were formed in 1947 in Roswell, New Mexico. Their name was a tribute to the rocketry research and testing conducted by Dr. Robert Goddard. The club went defunct in 1956. The Rockets are most remembered for player Joe Bauman, who set a 72-home run record for all pro-ball in 1954.

Joe Bauman's affiliation with the Roswell Rockets in part prompted three aliens to give him a gift which allowed him to hit 72 home-runs.
