Roberta Brown in The Guns of the SouthEdit

Roberta Brown was the wife of Albert Gallatin Brown, the second Vice President of the Confederate States. On March 4, 1868, in preparation for her husband's inauguration ceremonies, she discussed pleasant topics with Varina Davis, the wife of Albert G. Brown's one-time Mississippi rival Jefferson Davis. Mrs. Brown was widowed that same day when her husband was murdered, along with several other people, after having been Vice President for only a few minutes.[1]
