[edit] Robert Goddard in Worldwar
Robert Goddard was the leading rocket scientist of the United States. In 1944, he developed rocket-propelled weapons for his country to use against the Race. These were forerunners of nuclear missiles. Unfortunately for Goddard, the stress of developing these weapons while remaining hidden from the Race took a heavy toll on his health.
