King Richard I of England, aka "Richard the Lion-Hearted," (1157-1199) was a twelfth-century King of England who led Christian armies in the Third Crusade, was briefly deposed by his brother and King Philip II of France, defeated the usurpers and reclaimed his crown, and was killed in battle against the French in 1199 when an arrow wound became infected. He spent less than one year of his ten-year reign inside his kingdom's borders.

Richard I in WorldwarEdit

On being informed by Benjamin Berkowitz that the Race had fully expected to encounter 12th-century military technology in their 20th-century invasion of Tosev 3, Sam Yeager was amused to imagine the Lizards battling King Arthur and Richard the Lion-Hearted (those being the only two medieval figures he could recall).[1]
