Statue of Remembrance, Bedloe Island, New York Harbor

For the airplane carrier, see USS Remembrance.

Remembrance was a political and cultural movement that emerged in the United States after the Second Mexican War and lasted until the end of the Great War. It was characterized by intense revanchism against the Confederate States, militarism, authoritarian tendencies, and strong ties with the German Empire. Despite this culture, widespread immigration continued to flourish.

Upon US victory in the Great War, "Remembrance" receded into history. However, its mirror image appeared in the defeated Confederacy, where Jake Featherston's own political philosophy greatly surpassed the original in virulent hatred and revanchism. The term "Remembrance" also appeared occasionally among diehard nationalist Canadians, sworn to go on resisting the US occupation.
