Regensburg, sometimes called Ratisbon in English, is a city in south-east Germany, situated at the confluence of the Danube, Naab and Regen rivers. With over 140,000 inhabitants, Regensburg is the fourth-largest city in the State of Bavaria after Munich, Nuremberg and Augsburg. The city is the political, economic and cultural centre of Eastern Bavaria and the capital of the Bavarian administrative region Upper Palatinate.

Regensburg in The Man With the Iron HeartEdit

In Spring 1946, the German Freedom Front blew up an American ammunition dump on the outskirts of Regensburg, killing 45 soldiers, and wounding others. It broke windows 10 miles away. A survivor was quoted by the Chicago Tribune as saying "I thought one of those atomic whatsits went off."[1]
