RMS Titanic was a British Olympic class passenger liner that became famous for her collision with an iceberg off the coast of Newfoundland, and resulting dramatic sinking on the night of 14-15 April 1912, resulting in more than 1500 deaths.

Literary commentEdit

The Titanic is referenced proverbially in some Harry Turtledove works with a post-1912 POD. In Supervolcano[1] and The War That Came Early, some characters say "We're all in the same boat, and its the Titanic".

RMS Titanic in "Before the Beginning"Edit

Recordings of the sinking of the RMS Titanic were circulated after the invention of the time-viewer, but the images of the actual sinking were not as interesting as the re-enactment depicted in the 1997 film.

  1. All Fall Down, pg. 311, HC. Marshall Ferguson then reflects its more like the ship that was torpedoed, the Lusitania.
