Paul Karl Maria Harteck (1902–1985) was a German physical chemist. He was arrested by the allied British and AmericanArmed Forces and incarcerated at Farm Hall for six months in 1945 under Operation Epsilon. After his release, he returned to academia.
Nonetheless, Harteck and his fellows were held in the underground Alpine Redoubt until 1947. When American forces arrived, Heydrich escaped, and ordered Gerlach and several other scientists killed.[3]
