George Orson Welles (May 6, 1915 – October 10, 1985), best known as Orson Welles, was an American film director, actor, and magician, known for the radio adaption of H.G. Wells' novel War of The Worlds, and films Citizen Kane (1941), The Magnificent Ambersons (1942), and Touch of Evil (1958).

Sam Yeager recalled Orson Welles's The War of the Worlds radio adaptation when the Race invaded Earth in 1942, sharing his belief with Mutt Daniels that "The Martians have landed, for real this time."[1]
