Old Capet was the largest city in northern Detina, located on the Great River. It was often compared to New Eborac City in the south. A military collegium was located in the city; Hesmucet was an instructor there. When the Detinan Civil War began, Old Capet's province joined Grand Duke Geoffrey's self-proclaimed "kingdom." Geoffrey did not enjoy control of the city long, as King Avram's men attacked and occupied the city early in the war. Nat the Banker was one of the generals commanding the occupying forces.

Literary Comment[]

"Old Capet" is an analog for New Orleans, Louisiana (Orleans and Capet both being royal houses of France). The name of the province analogous to Louisiana, however is not revealed.
