Norfolk in "News From the Front"[]

On January 31, 1942, Norfolk received a rescue boat containing 30 survivors of the oil tanker Rochester, which had been torpedoed by a German U-boat. Newsreel reporters briefly interviewed the men before fleeing from a group of United States Navy officers, who sought to confiscate the footage. The film was released generally on February 5.[1]
