Miyamoto was something of an institution in San Atanasio, California. It was a Polynesian themed restaurant owned and operated by Stan Miyamoto. It had Easter Island heads and tiki torches out in front and served items like rumaki and foil-wrapped chicken. The main course was surf-and-turf of lobster and teriyaki steak. The bar served various rum drinks not normally found east of Honolulu such as scorpions.
Lt. Colin Ferguson and Kelly Birnbaum came to Miyamoto to celebrate her acceptance of Ferguson's wedding proposal. Ferguson had previously come to Miyamoto with his ex-wife but hadn't seen her there since they had broke up. Ferguson had also come once for business to successfully investigate a hold-up by armed robbers.[1]
