Myron Winthrop "Mike" McCormick (May 6, 1917 - April 13, 1975) was a professional baseball player. He became the starting center fielder of the Cincinnati Reds in 1940. In 1942, he suffered a fractured leg on the baseball field and missed the remainder of the 1942 season while he recuperated. He left the team in 1943, and returned in 1946. He subsequently played for the Boston Braves (1946-48), the Brooklyn Dodgers (1949), the New York Giants (1950), the Chicago White Sox (also 1950), and the Washington Senators (1951).
Prior to the Race Invasion of Tosev 3, intelligence operatives of the Conquest Fleet intercepted and translated a radio report of Mike McCormick's injury in which casual reference was made to the fact that McCormick's injury had been diagnosed by X-ray. While FleetlordAtvar was confused by many of the details of the McCormick story, such as what "season" McCormick would miss and how many other colors were represented in Cincinnati, he did understand all too well that the USA's expert use of X-rays and especially their casual mention of these devices during time of war, suggested that the US, and likely otherTosevitenot-empires, were distressingly advanced in their understanding of nuclear physics.[1]
