Miami in Southern VictoryEdit

Miami was not directly touched by the Second Great War, and was one of the Confederate cities that did not see United States troops until after the war was over. In 1944, Confederate guerrillas blew up a boat next to the USS Oregon while it was moored off the coast of Miami. U.S. troops seized no less than 1500 hostages who were later executed. This process led to gun battles resulting in more U.S. casualties. Some members of the Oregon crew discussed shelling the city in response but discipline held and no action was taken. The affair left a heritage of suspicion and bitterness.

Miami in WorldwarEdit

When the Race's Conquest Fleet invaded Earth in 1942, it overran and occupied much of Florida, including Miami. The United States destroyed Miami with an atomic bomb in 1943, which Teerts witnessed from a distance as he approached the city in his killercraft.
