Medford is a city in, and county seat of, Jackson County, Oregon, United States. The city was named in 1883 by David Loring, civil engineer and right-of-way agent for the Oregon and California Railroad, after Medford, Massachusetts, which was near Loring’s home town of Concord, Massachusetts. Medford is near the middle ford of Bear Creek.

Medford in The House of Daniel[]

On July 29, 1934, the House of Daniel traveled to Medford to play their semipro team, the Nuggets. The game proved to be a rough one, with a fight in the ninth inning. The House won in the end.[1]
