Marjorie was a woman who danced with John Houston Thorpe at the Confederate veterans' reunion in Richmond in 1932. She was the age of Thorpe's oldest great-granddaughter. Thorpe's stamina greatly impressed Marjorie, who suggested he should rest. He replied that since he had not many opportunities left to dance in his life, he should make the most of each one. Marjorie enjoyed the experience.[1]
