Lucy was a middle-aged community outreach worker at the Hebrew Home for the Aging in the San Fernando Valley. She arranged for Anne Berkowitz, a Holocaust survivor, to speak with an eighth-grade history class from nearby Junipero Middle School. She expressed her appreciation to Anne before the class came. She stayed for the entire presentation, and attempted to talk to Anne some more afterwards, but Anne used her privilege as an elderly person to walk away.
