Louisville is the largest city in the U.S. state of Kentucky, and the county seat of Jefferson County.

Louisville was a primary objective of the United States Army during the Second Mexican War. Thanks to the efforts of theConfederate military, particularly General Thomas Jackson, Louisville was heavily defended, and became a meatgrinder for U.S. forces.

Louisville was captured during the Great War through a pincer movement. It spent an embarassing generation in the USA afterwards.
