Louis XV of France (15 February 1710 - 10 May 1774) ruled as King of France and Navarre from 1715 until his death of small-pox. A would-be reformer, Louis led his country into the Seven Years' War, which saw France get defeated in Europe and abroad, with most of its colonies in North America taken by Great Britain and Spain.
