is the largest park in the Central Community of Minneapolis
on the southwest corner of downtown Minneapolis. It also lends its name to the surrounding neighborhood.
Loring Park was the site of a Mothers Against the Madness in Germany rally in the summer of 1946. It was here that Mayor Hubert Humphrey rushed the stage during a reading of the names of soldiers killed by the German Freedom Front to plead with the protestors to support the continued US occupation of Germany.
