Longball was a game that was played among the Race. It involved two players who would stand apart and throw a ball to each other. Once the player caught the ball, they would take a step back, and throw it to the their opponent, who would take another step back and return the throw. This would go on until the ball could no longer reach the other player. Who ever threw the ball last and didn't make it, lost.
When the Race invaded Britain in 1943, they found the island too small and too tightly packed with resistance. Fleetlord Atvar likened the campaign to trying to hold a game of Longball in an Airlock.
