Kurd von Schlozer (1822-1894) was the German ambassador to the United States around the period of the Second Mexican War.

Schlozer was committed to Chancellor Otto von Bismarck's foreign policy goals, especially the isolation of France, Germany's traditional enemy. To that end, Schlozer and German military attache Alfred von Schlieffen proposed an alliance between the United States and Germany to President James G. Blaine in the wake of the US's second consecutive defeat to the Confederate States, which was a French ally. This alliance would eventually develop into the Central Powers.
