King of the North (Baen, 1996) is the third book in the Elabon Series. It tells how Gerin the Fox, now styling himself as King of the North, prosecuted the war against the Viking-like Gradi, a new barbarian horde which endangers the northlands. The Gaul-like Trokmoi, the primary villains of Werenight and Prince of the North, are now allies against the newer, greater danger. The gods of various pantheons appear and directly intervene in the fighting.
