Ерофей Хабаров 2-1-

Khabarovsk (Russian: Хаба́ровск; IPA: [xɐ'barəfsk]) is the largest city and the administrative center of Khabarovsk Krai, Russia. It is located 30 km (19 mi) from the Chinese border. It is the second largest city in the Russian Far East, after Vladivostok.

Khabarovsk in The Hot War[]

Owing to its position on the Trans-Siberian railroad, Khabarovsk was subjected to atomic bombing by the U.S. in May 1951.[1]

Vasili Yasevich had been walking through the woods towards the Amur when he saw the flash from Khabarovsk's destruction. It gave him the idea to claim to be a survivor from the outskirts of the city to explain his lack of papers if he managed to cross into the Soviet Union.[2]

Khabarovsk in The War That Came Early[]

Khabarovsk had been a rather unimportant city in Russian history until the conflict between the Empire of Japan and the Soviet Union in 1939-40. With a loss of several portions of the Trans-Siberian railroad, the city became the prime base of the Red Air Force for its air assistance to Vladivostok during its siege and after.

In 1940, Foreign Commissar Maxim Litvinov traveled to Khabarovsk to finalize the cease-fire between the Soviet Union and the Empire of Japan, which ceded the Siberian territory Japan had successfully taken during April 1939 through the Summer of 1940.[3]
