In Russian folklore, the witch Baba Yaga lives in a hut which stands on chicken legs. It is inhabited by numerous slaves and indentured servants of the witch, who often turns out to have grossly overestimated the loyalty of these beings.

Baba Yaga's hut in "Slue-Foot Sue and the Witch in the Woods"[]

Slue-foot Sue quickly learned that Baba Yaga lived in an izbushka that stood on chicken legs.

After the witch was defeated, Sue assuaged her husband Pecos Bill's anger by having Bean Hole cook him an excellent chicken dinner made from the legs of Baba Yaga's izbushka, which she cut off from the hut. After that, they achieved their long-delayed consummation of their marriage.
