Idaho is a state in Pacific Northwest region of the United States. It borders Oregon and Washington to the west, Montana to the northeast, Wyoming to the east, and the Canadian province of British Columbia to the north. Idaho's state capital and largest city is Boise and it was admitted to the Union as the 43rd state on July 3, 1890.
Idaho was badly hit when the Yellowstone Supervolcano erupted. Even though it was generally up-wind of the eruption, falling ash covered the state. No one was sure how many feet, but the U.S. wouldn't have the fleet of bulldozers and trucks to remove it.
