The IJN Kaga was an aircraft carrier of the Imperial Japanese Navy, originally intended as a Tosa-class battleship. She supported Japanese troops during the Shanghai Incident of 1932 and participated in the Second Sino-Japanese War in the late 1930s. She took part in the Pearl Harbor raid, several battles in the Southwest Pacific Ocean in January and February 1942, and was sunk at the Battle of Midway on 4 June 1942.
The Kaga was an aircraft carrier serving with the Imperial Japanese Navy during Japan's invasion and occupation of Hawaii during World War II.
During the battle with the US Navy off Hawaii, the Kaga was damaged and forced back to Tokyo for repairs.
