Helen Radcliff was the wife of Frederick Radcliff. As both had been born as slaves, under the laws of the United States of Atlantis, they were not legally married. They had several children, none of whom survived into adulthood.
In 1852, Helen and Frederick were house-slaves, until the fateful day when Frederick tripped on a floorboard and humiliated his owners.
