The Hanover Uprising was a riot between Atlantean dissenters and British occupation forces in the north Atlantis city of Hanover. Taking place mere days after the outbreak of war between colonists and Britain, the uprising led to pitched battles in the streets between gangs and British soldiers, leading to even tighter martial law after the fighting died down.

Victor Radcliff fled the city soon afterward, fleeing to the small town of Hooville where he encountered a delegation from the Atlantean Assembly imploring him to take charge of the combined armed forces of the colonies.
