Fusata Iida (d. 7 December 1941) was a Japanese fighter-pilot. During the attack on Pearl Harbor, Iida's plane was hit. He attempted to crash his wounded plane into a hangar, but failed. Nonetheless, Iida is seen as an early example of Japanese kamikaze tactics.

Fusata Iida in Days of Infamy Edit

Saburo Shindo revered Fusata Iida's efforts to hurt the enemy even in the face of death on December 7, 1941.[1] Iida probably provided a model for Shindo's own death in 1943.
